Pembrey Country Park

Described as one of Europes best beaches this eight mile stretch of long golden sand is one of the treasures of the Pembrey Country Park. With its lifeguards and flat sands this safe friendly beach provides excellent access and facilities for disabled visitors and young children. Pembrey boasts a fantastic mix of traditional seaside attractions such as crazy golf and beach entertainers coupled with more modern facilities such as an impressive dry ski slope, toboggan run and a charming miniature railway. A perfect way to enjoy the magnificent views across Carmarthen Bay to Tenby and the Gower is to hire a bicycle and take one of the well marked cycle routes through the spectacular scenery of Pembrey Country Park. Alternatively a brightly coloured minature train runs throughout the day taking families across the golden sands towards the bay.

People visit Pembrey Country Park for many different reasons. Some to enjoy the freedom to wander around 202 hectares of glorious parkland, some to take advantage of one of the best beaches in the UK, others to use the host of excellent family attractions found in the Park.

Set against the spectacular backdrop of the Gower Peninsula and overlooking the coastal scenery of Carmarthen Bay, the Park had been transformed into one of Wales’s top visitor attractions providing a unique blend of coast and countryside.
The Pines trail is a circular walk that starts at Pembrey Country Park Visitor Centre, turning right from the beach path to follow the wide, straight woodland ride. The walk is very well waymarked and can be done with or without the accompanying leaflet that is available from the Visitor Centre.
